Yes! We're still here!

Well, I've done it again. I've completely neglected the blog! As you can imagine, things are a little busy over here! I won't bore you and try to catch you up on every detail that has happened over the past month, but will try to give you a quick recap of everything. We had a relaxing Easter weekend with a small gathering of immediate family since it was still during RSV season. The kids had a big time! (They are still playing with the little snap-together plastic Easter eggs. Who knew that a bag of 50 cent eggs could entertain three children for a month? And all that money we've wasted on expensive toys....). They are starting to become VERY mobil. The are constantly working on their walking skills by pushing and walking behind any toy with wheels on them. They can all stand independently for several seconds at a time and Nola even took a small step a week or so ago so they are getting very close!!! They are also all eating table foods and are on whole milk now. This has been my current challenge and has led to some frustrating moments for me. We all know that toddlers can be picky eaters but it gets even harder when you have three toddlers who all change their minds daily on what they like and don't like. Of course, half of what I give them gets tossed into the floor so that sort of adds to the fun of it all! As their mother I just want to make sure that they are eating healthy foods, but you certainly can't force them. They'll only eat what they want to eat. The other night I swear the only thing that Maddux would eat for dinner were pieces of cheese and goldfish crackers. I offered him an array of fresh vegetables and fruit, but he wasn't feeling it. So, I try to not stress about it. They'll come around. I hope! He refuses all meats. The girls pretty much eat whatever I give them. Well, except for what they throw in the floor! But, I have to remind myself, this is just a phase. It will go by too quickly and I may look back and miss the days when they were throwing food in the floor. Okay, maybe not! The kiddos also had their annual review with TEIS (the early intervention center) and they all scored within the range of 12-15 months for all of their skills (cognitive, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, communication, etc) so we were of course THRILLED to hear that! Except for Miss Nola who scored as high as a 36 month old with her communication skills. I've said it all along, she's my little overachiever! We're excited that RSV season is officially over! We will all be happier now that we can get out and about. I even took all three to Target and to an outdoor mall all by myself!!! I really felt like that was an accomplishment! So, look out Nashville, we could be heading your way!!!

Sweet boy:
Nola, my little thinker....
Check out the belly on this cutie!

Just wondering if you've tried tofu. My kids love it and it's a good source of protein. I just buy the soft kind in the vegetable section of the grocery store and slice it up. Mine also like hummus on a soft tortilla. Just some ideas...
