Everyday Something New!

Wow, they are really starting to pick up things so quickly! I'm amazed! This past week we went to the beach for a family vacay (I'll save the details and pics for a later post). The babies had a good time and of course loved all of the extra attention they received by having me, daddy and the grandparents and great-grandparents around them all day long! The good thing was that they all picked up quite a few new words. Nola has especially expanded her vocabulary. Her current words are "hi", "bye bye" (she waves her little hand when saying both), "puppy", "open", "apple", "eye" (and will point to your eye), "baby", and "duck". And it's not that she's just saying these words clearly, she knows what they mean. They all understand way more than I give them credit for! Maddux's current word (other than "mama") is CAR! How funny is that? Proof that boys are born boys! He will go look out the window and point and say "car" like a thousand times! Ugh, so precious! Luce jabbers constantly however no actual words yet, at least not any that I can understand! But she knows exactly what she is saying! They all know tons of body parts. When asked they will each point to their head, hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, toes and belly. They also can all sign for "more". The girls do their little fists together however Maddux does the "time out" motion when signing for more! They loooooove to drink from a straw and as soon as you give one a sip of a drink they all start signing for "more". I love it! I loooooove that they are beginning to be able to communicate! They are so interactive with each other and that is just so adorable. They laugh at each other and are even starting to work together to make things happen (like the other day all three of them were trying to lift the top of the storage ottoman open to access the toys inside!). Nola is still walking and gets better and better everyday. She can now stand up right in the middle of the room instead of using the furniture. And my money is on Luce for being the next one to walk. She's already taken 3-4 steps at a time this week so we'll see. Maddux is just fine crawling around and doesn't seem interested in trying to walk. Crawling is easy so why bother? He'll get it soon enough!

Isn't this so classic? They are all playing with an empty storage bin instead of the thousands of toys scattered all over the room:

Jones, they are so precious. I know it just warms your heart that they are progressing and learning so quickly and so well. They have come SO far since their fragile beginning. I'm so proud of them and of YOU for being such a great mommy to them! Love you!
